The Bathurst Orienteering club will host a orienteering event on the new Carter's Brook Watershed orienteering map located behind the Nepisiquit River Company store, 1015 rue St-Anne St, Bathurst, NB.

Meet type:

Point to point (Visit controls in numerical sequence)

The goal is to find controls, orange and white triangle flags, located at distinct features, such as trail junctions along your route. A map will be provided to help you with your journey.

Courses

• Course 1 - Beginner (2.7km±): The controls will be located on and off the trails. A good course for beginners and families.
• Course 2 - Short Intermediate (3.9km): The controls will be located mostly off the trails.
• Course 3 - Long Intermediate (4.8km): Through rough terrain and more physical than the Short Intermediate course.
• Course 4 - Advanced (6.0km+): Technical course. A more challenging course.

Go alone or in a group.

Training map: If new to orienteering a demonstration course will be set up to practice on.

Terrain:

Park with a complex trail network, areas of dense forest, and wet areas.

Fees (Pay at the onsite registration)

1. Adults: $15
2. Youth (under 21): $10
3. Families: Max $30

Registration:

Pre-registration is requested by June 12 to guarantee a map. Walk in registration on the day of the event will be allowed but there will be a limited number of spare maps. To register contact Harold McQuade, hm@orienteeringnb.ca .

Provide:

1) Name, gender and date of birth.

2) Course.

3) Families and teams. Provide names of team members and team name.

4) SIN number.

What is a SIN number? Electronic timing equipment will be used. A SportIdent electronic recorder is required. If you do not have a electronic recorders one will be provided ($45 charge if lost).

On-site registration: 11:00am to 11:45am behind the Nepisiquit River Company store.

Race start:

Noon: First start at noon. Individual and teams will be assigned start times.

From the south coming from the Mirimachi and Grande Anse. On highway 11 take exit 308 to rue St. Anne St. Turn right onto rue St. Anne St. The Nepisiquit River Company store is 0.5 km on the right. Park behind the Nepisiquit River Company store. Look for the "Orienteering" banner.

From the north coming from Petit Rocher. On highway 11, take exit 308 jusqu'à to St. Anne St. Turn right onto St. Anne St. The Nepisiquit River Company store is 0.9 km on the right. Park behind the Nepisiquit River Company store. Look for the "Orienteering" banner.
