Map: Rockwood Park

This fall brings the return of the Rockwood (mini) Rogaine!

Two-hour and four-hour courses will be available.

TheTwo-hour course will stay closer to the Start/Finish area and have most of its controls located on or near the many trails in the park. It will have a few tougher ones thrown in to make it interesting. The Four-hour course will range through more of the park and will only share a few controls with the easier course.

A "Rogaine" is an "orienteering treasure hunt". There is no set course to follow. Controls are scattered throughout the mapped area and participants have a fixed time interval (120 or 240 minutes) to find as many controls as possible in whatever order they choose before returning to the start area.

Points are awarded for each control based on difficulty and/or distance from the start area. Points are deducted for participants who return to the start area after their time limit expires.

Directions

The Start/Finish will be at the northern parking lot near Cherrybrook Zoo.

From the East: Take Exit 128 and follow Foster Thurston Drive just past the Zoo.

From the West/Downtown: Follow Hospital signs past University Ave and the Golf Club. Continue along Sandy Point Road almost to the Zoo.

A large Red & White Orienteering sign will mark the parking lot.

Onsite registration and collection of fees will be available starting at about 11:00 am.

Participants may start anytime after registration is completed, but remember the course time limits - your time begins as soon as you punch the start!
