Organizer: Steve Heron (Organizer)

Map: Killarney Lake

This is a combination of a classic point-to-point orienteering event with a "progressive impediment" score/scramble block midway through. There will be a mass start and everyone will use the same map. The first few (easy) controls must be visited in order until you reach the Stumbling Block. There, your course determines how many extra controls you must visit (in any order) inside the Block. Then a few more (easy) controls on the way to the Finish!

This is a public event, open to all, with no prior orienteering experience required. Help will be available on site for any beginners needing some tips to get started.

COURSES

  • Stumble 1 (under 2 km): Start out easy and grab one control in the Stumbling Block.
  • Stumble 3 (about 2 km): Can you find 3 easy controls the in the box?
  • Stumble 5 (2-3 km): Some of your 5 extra controls will require bushwhacking!
  • Stumble 7 (3-4 km): Anything goes! Find all 7 controls in the Block.
